ABOUT

My great-grandma taught me how to crochet when I was 14 years old with a ripple afghan pattern from memory (remember those being so popular in the 70s & 80s). Not only did she teach me, she switched from her dominant hand to make it easier for me since I’m a leftie. I had no idea how incredible it was that she could switch hands so seamlessly until many years later as I dove much deeper into my yarn addiction.
Some days, I love the challenge of learning a new technique or stitch and some days having a repetitive pattern is super soothing. Having multiple projects in progress is wonderful for my neurospicy brain!
With over 35 years of stitching up yarn into everything from coasters to afghans, I started taking on mending projects a few years ago. I especially like to work on restoring cherished family afghans. Helping families preserve pieces lovingly stitched up by their ancestors to keep enjoying and be able to pass on to the next generation warms my heart.
